You want to write an article? The first action is not an outline. It is one paragraph. Actually, it is two sentences.
You want to start running? The first session is not 20 minutes. It is putting on your shoes and walking to the end of your street.
You want to learn a new skill? The first action is opening the resource and reading for five minutes. Not finishing the chapter. Five minutes.
The goal is a completed action — not an impressive one. Your nervous system does not know the difference between a small win and a big one. It just registers: I said I would do something, and I did it. That signal builds trust with yourself. Enough of those signals and you stop needing to negotiate with your own resistance.

It is scorekeeping. You are building a record that says: when I set a first action, I finish it. That record is more valuable than any single piece of output.
